Skaters with Disabilities

Alpine Ice also offers programs for skaters who are differently abled, physically or intellectually.

The skaters will start in the Learn to Skate program within a group situation to create a fun and stimulating class allowing for the development of balance and co-ordination. Alternatively the skater can begin with individual lessons to help develop confidence and balance. Once the basic skills are mastered they can move into the Special Skate stream under the New Zealand Ice Figure Skating Association and skate for fun or compete. Skaters may also participate in mainstream competitions and test systems.

For class times and prices contact the Skate School Director.
